Fine Arts
General Music
The foundation for the MMBA music program is our general music instruction. In preschool and elementary, students meet one to two times a week for instruction in singing, rhythm, note recognition, pitch awareness, and music history. Students in grades 3 and 4 will also receive instruction on the recorder.
All students participate in MMBA’s Christmas and spring concerts, with additional performances throughout the year. Our fourth-grade students will be invited to begin competing in the Illinois Association of Christian Schools (IACS) Fine Arts Tournament as well.
This musical instruction thoroughly prepares students for participation in the band and choir opportunities in junior and senior high. Many of our students have graduated with a proficiency in at least one musical instrument.
